10K for David Unger

Hi Everyone,

As many of you know by now, David Unger (Jim Unger's oldest son) suffered a stroke about 6 months ago, at the young age of 43.

As a result of the stroke, David has been partially paralyzed. He is now unable to work, drive, or even stand for more than 15 minutes.

The medical bills related to this emergency have placed David and his wife, Alvalene, in a dire financial situation. They have accumulated more than $80,000 in medical bills and have been forced to declare bankruptcy.

David has been working with governmental organizations (the Social Security Administration and the Unemployment Agency) to receive assistance, but things have moved slowly, since David was not employed at the time he was stricken.

Because we love him, David's friends and family are trying to come to his aid by organizing a fundraiser called "10K for David." The goal of this fundraiser is to raise $10,000 to assist David and Alvalene with medical and living expenses until Social Security can accept his claim.

The main fundraiser will be a raffle with 3 fabulous prizes donated by some wonderful people. Raffle tickets are $5 each. The drawing will be held at a Detroit-area restaurant on December 11, 2005 where a fundraiser dinner will be held for David. Raffle ticket holders do not need to be present to win.

If you can help us help David, please click on donate for more details about making a contribution or purchasing a raffle ticket.

Thank you all in advance!!
With Love,
David's Family
